Tips on Cleaning Window Blinds
Window blinds are a rave these days because they are more budget-friendly compared to curtains. They come in various designs, colours, sizes, and styles, offering you a wide selection to choose from.
Each type of blind requires a special process in cleaning. You will need to tidy them to keep your house dust-free and healthy for you and your family. Hence, cleaning window blinds should be part of your home improvement routine.
Roman blinds are made of fabric so you need to take extra care when cleaning them. You will need soap and water solution and soft cloth or sponge. Take the shades off the window when you clean them. Using the soft piece of cloth, that is dampen with the soap and water solution, rub or scrub the blinds lightly to remove dust and dirt.
Venetian blinds are made of plastic, aluminium or wood. You can scrub them clean as their materials make them durable. Fill a tub with warm water and add vinegar into it. Take the blinds off the window then place them in the tub. Let it soak until the dust and grime loosens. Empty the tub then rinse the shade with cold water using a shower head. Afterwards, pat them dry with a soft towel.
Vertical blinds are easier to clean. Simply flatten the blinds fully on the window by closing them. You would need sponge, water with bleach and paper towels. Soak the sponge but squeeze out any excess water. Rub it lightly on the shades, then dry them right away with paper towels.
